Our new double A sided download single ‘Popes 4 Cops 1’ (BLANG 26) is out this Monday 8th March. The A side is a shorter version of ‘Here Come The Popes Part 4’ from ‘High Slang’. The AA side is ‘Here Come The Cops’ an instrumental remix by Oculus III (my remixing alias) dedicated to Vatican priest Cesare Burgazzi who led police on a high-speed car chase through Rome last October after being stopped in a red-light district. When caught after 20 minutes Burgazzi said ‘”You have no idea who I am. You don’t know who you’re messing with.” There’s a review of the single at Sounds XP We’re launching the single at the 12 Bar Club on Monday 8th. Also on the bill are former Six By Seven frontman Chris Olley and Parisian duo Reipas. 8 30 Reipas Full details at Blang site. We’re playing with guest bassist Stuffy, AKA solo artist Stephen Evens, ex-singing drummer in Stuffy/The Fuses and ex-drummer with Graham Coxon. Stuffy is also joining us for a BBC 6Music (God save them) live session on Tom Robinson’s show on Friday March 26th. I’m also playing solo at a night I’ve arranged at the Elixir Bar on Eversholt Street, near Mornington Crescent tube, on Wednesday March 10th, I’m on early at 8 and am followed by my guests Lucy’s Diary, Reipas, Kinkajou and Corporal Machine and the Bombers. This is the last single from High Slang and then we’ll be releasing new stuff. Joe |
