BUZFUZ TRACK ON COMP CD Buzfuz have a track on the new UK antifolk compilation CD “AFUK and I”. The album is out now and is in the shops. It’s out on AFUK Records. The Buzfuz track is “Too Stupid” which is an out-take from the Fire Horse album. It’s essentially a Joe solo track. The CD also features Jinx Lennon, Milk Kan, David Cronenberg’s Wife, Filthy Pedro, JJ Crash, The Teenbeat, The Rebel, Matthew Sawyer and The Ghosts, Paul Hawkins and many more.
12 BAR GIG WED 12TH The band play Blang on Wed 12th with Ian Button (Death In Vegas, Paul Hawkins and Thee Awkward Silences) guesting on drums. It’s the launch party for Malcolm Kaksois’ debut single “Sexy Dentist”. Full line-up etc here.
RECORDING Sgt Buzfuz go into the studio this weekend to begin recording the next album. They’re recording with Jon Clayton at One Cat.

DEBUT GIG FOR NEW LINE-UP Buzfuz play their first gig with the new line-up at Blang next week. The band are on at 10 15. After Filthy Pedro’s single release launch gig at 9 15. See Blang site Gigs. FREE DOWNLOADS EACH MONTH The band have made 4 tracks free to download on their Myspace site. The 4 tracks will be changed each month. This month’s tracks are: 1 Here Come The Popes Part 1 (from The Jewelled Carriageway) 2 It’s Not What You’ve Got It’s Who You Give It To (Jewelled Carriageway) 3 Scratch A Lover (Fire Horse) 4 Tear The Clouds (Obsessive Compulsion…)
SOMETHING IN THE WATER Something In The Water (Joe Buzfuz, Polly Maclean and guest violinist Tom Alder from David Cronenberg’s Wife) have a busy June. They play a cover of Paul Hawkins’ ‘Mother I’m On TV’ at the Paul Hawkins/L’il Lost Lou split single release party on Friday 8th at The Betsey Trotwood, Farrigdon Road. Free entry!
Then on Saturday 16th they support Dr Strangely Strange at The 12 Bar Club. It’s the first London gig for 34 years from the psych-folkers. The night has sold out.
On Friday June 22nd SITW will be playing as live guests on Johny Brown’s Mining For Gold mix show on London’s volunteer-run art radio station Resonance 104.4 FM. 11 pm to midnight. Can be heard outside London on www.resonancefm.com.
RATIONAL FOR THE HARDCORE Buzfuz were mentioned passingly in last week’s TimeOut in a preview of the Homefires festival, debating the merits of its becoming less strictly "folk" based: "...this year's Homefires is a more musically varied affair than any of its predecessors [...]If for you this is like Dylan going electric (or Sergeant Buzfuz going rational, for the real hardcore), you should check out Sunday's Upset The Rhythm hop." No, us neither… but nice for the band to get a mention.
ANTIFOLK COMPILATION There’ll be a Sergeant Buzfuz track on an upcoming antifolk compilation CD compiled by JJ Crash and released on the AFUK label. The Buzfuz track is ‘Too Stupid’ which is an out-take from the Fire Horse CD. More news soon, word is on a summer release.
