“Popes 4 Cops 1” is a double A side single due in March. The A side is a shorter mix of “Here Come The Popes Part 4” and the AA side is “Here Come The Cops”, a remix of the track by Oculus III (Joe’s remix alias). The remix is a response to the recent news story of Vatican priest Cesare Burgazzi who led police on a high-speed car chase through Rome after being stopped in a red-light district.

It’s remixed in the style of a 70s TV cop show. The A side will be the last single from “High Slang”.
The band are rehearsing new songs and are planning 2 albums, one being the first part of the history of the Catholic Church and the other being Pope-free.

Blang Records are proud to announce their involvement in Fresh On The Net Festival, a two week festival curated by Tom Robinson from BBC 6music. To celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the ‘BBC Introducing: Fresh On The Net’ radio show, Tom Robinson is presenting a fortnight of outstanding new songwriters, indie bands and electronic artists at Riverside Studios. The festival will run from Tuesday 20th October to Sunday November 1st.

Tom has invited Blang to produce a label showcase as part of the festival on Oct 21st, with eight acts reflecting the diverse range of characters on the label. It promises to be a civilised but lively affair, in a seated venue with a curfew of 10.20pm. Plenty of time for an aftershow party then!
